Somebody had a bad experience with Motorcare Warranties
It's always worth learning from the experience of others - and maybe avoiding the same mistakes. Check out the links to the comments other people have about Motorcare Warranities Limited.

Interesting links...
ReplyDeleteHeard some news about this company which is quite disturbing - It would be great if people who have this company for their warranty would mention where they bought their goods from!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a warranty with Motorcare, and sadly I've had to use it a number of times for my Fiat Ulysse (which turned out to be a total bag of spanners).
ReplyDeleteIn the course of the six or so claims I have put through them, I have had some mixed experiences. They have paid some claims, but not others. In the process I have learned some valuable lessons:
- Don't let the garage do ANY work they plan to charge for without getting authorization from Motorcare first. This is reasonable, really.
- Calling them is fairly ineffective, and takes ages. A well worded letter is better evidence when you want to follow up, and is likely to get a faster response.
- They are hopelessly disorganized and inefficient, so expect to have to chase every claim at least five times before it gets paid.
- Don't expect to get paid in less than six months from the original claim date. I have one claim that is waiting almost a year since they accepted it.
- Read the requirements of what needs to be on the invoice very carefully, and make sure your dealer puts it on.
- Get two original print-outs of every invoice. They won't accept copies and they are prone to losing things.
Hope that helps!

Having problems today.
ReplyDeleteAnti Roll Bars and some joints need replacing on mt TT Mk1 with 53k on the clock.
The motorcare warranty clearly states what is NOT covered - Suspension parts like ARBs are not included in this section.
Motorcare are claiming that these components are wear and tear and are expected to hjave to be replaced in a vehicle lifetime.
Audi disagree with this, and every other warranty I can find names thes parts as covered components.
Feel very cheated
I am a dealer who currently uses Motorcare warranties - but not for much longer! Very Few claims are ever approved, payment for those that are takes months. This company offers extremely poor service. Avoid at all costs!!!
ReplyDeleteThe warranty is not worth the paper it's written on. I have had dealings with the company two times now and on both occasions, they have tried to worm themselves out of paying. I am currently seeking advice from my local consumer program.
ReplyDeleteStay well clear of them if it can be avoided. Just wished I had researched them before buying the warranty!!!
You'll find them (Clifton Russell, Trevor Carson, William Morgan) to be a total sham!
ReplyDeleteIf you think for 1 minute they'll pay, think again! Organised crime is what I'd describe it as. We sent a diagnostic to them costing around £60, they sent an engineer down who over ruled the diagnostic, the fault wasn't fixed, we drove the car out of the garage, it broke down and caused further damage. We complained to Motorcare (Clifton) who said he would now pay for the original part to be fixed but not the damage caused by not having it fixed in the first place, he says this is consequential damage and is not covered!!!!!!!!!
It's now ended up in court.
Any1 else who's had bad dealings with these morons, what you need to do is;
1. Send a complaint to complaints@motorgroup.co.uk
2. When you get their response, ask them is it final, persistently email them for 8 weeks then;
3. Contact the financial ombudsman and ask them to look into it. Keep all your emails / replies as the Ombudsman needs these.
4. Go to money claim on line and file your claim. It will end up in a County Court near you and with a bit of luck you'll win your case and get interest!
It's also worth complaining to the dealer who you bought the car off, you may be able to sue him as well, bonus!
The more people who do this, the earlier these dorks will be out of business :-)
I HAD DEALINGS WITH TREVOR CARSON! HE WAS RUDE TO ME OVER A PART FOR MY RANGE ROVER HSE SPORT. AFTER A LONG DEBATE AND LOTS OF WASTED TIME HE WALKED AWAY FROM ME MUTTERING UNDER HIS BREATH HE WOULD NOT SPIT ON ME IF I WAS ON FIRE. WHAT A RUDE MAN. HE GIVES THE IRISH A BAD NAME. DISGRACE TO THEM AND HIS MICKY MOUSE COMPANY.
